Cuenta la historia de una jovén diseñadora que de la noche a la mañana tiene que hacerse cargo de sus tres sobrinos y su vida cambiará para siempre... La serie está protagonizada por Lori Loughlin, Ryan Kwanten, Jesse McCartney y Kay Panabaker entre otros.En la serie se cuenta la historia de Ava, una próspera diseñadora de moda que ha logrado todo lo que quería ser en la vida. Establecerse y formar una familia no entra dentro de sus planes de futuro. Sin embargo, la muerte de su hermana y su cuñado en un accidente le obliga a hacerse cargo de sus tres sobrinos.Antes del accidente, el mayor reto de Ava era dedicarse por completo a su profesión. Para ello, pensaba abandonar su trabajo en un gran estudio de diseño y montar por su propia cuenta una tienda de moda. Afincada en la playa de California, solía realizar visitas esporádicas a sus sobrinos que vivían en un granja de Kansas.A pesar de la tragedia, los niños parecen adaptarse al cambio de vida. Desde el momento de su llegada, su tía hará todo lo posible por crear y fomentar un hogar para sus sobrinos. Con 16 años, Bradin (Jesse McCartney) es el mayor de los tres hermanos. Aunque atraviesa momentos difíciles por su paso por la adolescencia, hará todo lo posible por ayudar a los más pequeños. Nikki (13 años), papel interpretado por Kay Panabaker, adora a su tía Ava. Mientras, Derrick de 8 años (Nick Benson), intenta asimilar los difíciles momentos que está atravesando tras la muerte de sus padres. Para desempeñar esta nueva tarea, Ava cuenta con la ayuda de sus tres grandes amigos (Johnny, Jay y Susana) que le servirán de apoyo y referencia a la hora de formar un familia.Johnny es el ex-novio de Ava. A pesar de su ruptura, ambos mantienen una buena relación. El joven piensa que no ha logrado su objetivo en la vida y cuando Ava más le necesita, comienza a sentirse útil convirtiéndose en la figura del padre que los tres niños necesitan desesperadamente. Jay (Ryan Kwaten), surfista australiano, es una persona despreocupada que no parece estar dispuesta a crecer y madurar. Posee una tienda de surf y su mayor preocupación en la vida es encontrar la ola perfecta. Ava recurre a él para que le ayude con Bradin, ya que éste se siente muy identificado con el espíritu desenfadado del amigo de su tía.Aunque su experiencia con niños y adolescentes es nula, Susana aportará la objetividad a las decisiones que Ava tome con respecto a la educación de su nueva familia y se convertirá en su punto de referencia.
